Being in a state of forgiveness for oneself can be a challenging but important aspect of personal growth and healing. Here are some prayers or affirmations that you might find helpful in pulling forth a reality of forgiveness for yourself:
A PRAYER FOR SELF-FORGIVENESS
“Dear [Higher Power or Personal Spiritual Reference], I come before you with a heavy, burdened heart. I ask for the presence to be with my parts and help them see the strength available inside, to face and forgive other parts of myself. May they access the boundless love and compassion available to them at all times. May they learn from this journey and embrace greater depths of self-discovery, understanding that it is safe to do so. May I stabalise the courage to move forward, leaving behind the weight of guilt and embracing the light of forgiveness (liberation).”
AN AFFIRMATION FOR SELF-FORGIVENESS
“I release the need for self-blame and guilt. I am human, and I acknowledge my mistakes. Today, I choose to forgive myself. I am worthy of love and compassion, both from others and from myself. I am on a journey of growth, and with each step, I let go of the past. I am deserving of forgiveness, and I am capable of change.”
A MEDITATION FOR SELF-FORGIVENESS
“As I breathe in, I inhale peace. As I exhale, I release self-judgment. I am not defined by my past mistakes. I acknowledge them, learn from them, and let them go. Today, I choose self-forgiveness. I am a work in progress, and with each moment, I remember more and more who I am. May I be gentle with myself and cultivate a heart full of compassion.”
A PRAYER FOR SELF-HEALING AND COMPASSION
“Divine Healer, I bring my wounds before you. Remind me how to embrace the healing power of self-compassion. May I be with myself as I discover all the new ways to navigate life’s challenges with grace and ease. Guide me on the path of growth and innerstanding. I release the need for perfection and embrace the journey of becoming, surrendering to all that is.”
Remember that self-forgiveness, is a process. It may take time, reflection, work on our parts, repeated affirmations or prayers, consistent energy practices, meditation, embodied movement and other forms of healing. Work with your parts to cultivate patience and for them to be able to allow the healing journey to unfold how it’s meant to. If needed, seeking support from friends, family, or a professional can also be a valuable part of the healing process.
